Waxseal launches a coin on pump.fun with a sealed message inside. It opens on the date you pick.
Quick start
- Pick when the seal opens: a preset or any date from 10 minutes to 5 years ahead.
- Write the message. Up to 120 bytes.
- Add a logo, a name and a ticker.
- Pick a dev buy and your wallet, press Seal and launch, approve once.
The time lock
Waxseal uses drand, a public randomness beacon run by a group of independent organisations. Every 3 seconds it publishes a new signed number, called a round.
Your message is encrypted to one future round. The key that opens it is that round's signature, and it does not exist until the beacon publishes it. So nobody can open the seal early: not you, not Waxseal, not anyone with a fast computer.
When the round arrives, anyone can open the seal with the public signature. Waxseal uses the drand quicknet network and the open source tlock method.
The lock depends on the drand beacon. If the beacon ever stopped for good, seals for later rounds could not be opened.
Picking the date
You pick the time in your own time zone. Waxseal shows it in UTC as well, because that is what goes into the coin.
The seal opens at the first beacon round on or before the minute you pick, so within 3 seconds of it.
The message
Up to 120 bytes: about 120 plain letters, fewer with emoji or accented letters. Keep your own copy. Once sealed, you cannot read it or change it either.
The sealed message goes into the coin's description like this:
Sealed until 2026-11-01 00:00 UTC. Open it on Waxseal. seal:AQH…
Costs
Network ≈ 0.0005 SOL priority fee + ≈ 0.02 SOL account rent. Total = dev buy + ≈ 0.0205 SOL. Sealing itself is free.
Launch steps
| 01 Seal | Your browser encrypts the message to the chosen round. Nothing about the message leaves your browser unencrypted. |
| 02 Upload | Logo and details, with the sealed code in the description, go to IPFS public storage. |
| 03 Build | The pump.fun create transaction is built. A one-time mint key is made in your browser. |
| 04 Sign | Your wallet asks you to approve. |
| 05 Send | The transaction goes to Solana. You get the contract address, the seal page and an X share link. |
Opening a seal
- Open the open page and paste the contract address.
- Waxseal reads the coin's description from Solana and finds the seal.
- Before the date you see a countdown. At zero the page asks the beacon for the key and shows the message.
A seal link (open.html#s=…) works the same way without a CA.
Errors
| Write the message to seal | The message box is empty. |
| The message must fit in 120 bytes | Shorten it, or drop emoji and accents. |
| Pick an unlock time at least 10 minutes from now | Move the date forward. |
| Add an image for your token | Drop a PNG, JPG, GIF or WEBP under 1 MB. |
| Name must be 2 to 32 characters | Shorten or lengthen the name. |
| Ticker must be 1 to 10 letters or digits | A–Z and 0–9 only. |
| Uploads are not configured yet | The upload service is offline. Nothing was launched. Try later. |
| You cancelled the transaction in your wallet | Press Seal and launch again. The same seal is reused. |
| This coin has no Waxseal in its description | The coin was not launched with Waxseal, or the CA is wrong. |
| The public time beacon did not answer | The beacon or your connection is slow. Try again in a moment. |
Safety
- Your private key never leaves your wallet.
- The mint key is made in your browser, used once, then dropped.
- The message is encrypted in your browser before anything is uploaded.
- Your seals are listed on this device only (local storage).
What it doesn't do
- No early opening, for anyone.
- No editing a message after launch.
- No accounts, no sign-up, no fee.
